RDT wins the YSR Lifetime Achievement Award

July 8, 2021

Anantapur, 7th July 2021: The Andhra Pradesh Government announced in a press conference that VFF USA’s implementing partner, the Rural Development Trust (RDT), has been awarded the prestigious YSR Lifetime Achievement Award. The ceremony is expected to take place on August 14th or 15th.

“We are honored to receive this award from the state government of Andhra Pradesh and we thank them for the recognition. This award is a testament to the commitment of thousands of people who joined hands with us to eradicate poverty and suffering in the past 52 years. This is a motivation that humbles and encourages us to continue our work. As my father once said: “No good action is lost in the world, somewhere it will last forever,” said Moncho Ferrer, President of the Board at VFF USA.

“It is a big honor for me, personally, and for the whole RDT team to accept this award and I would like to specially thank the Andhra Pradesh Government for it. It is a privilege for me and the RDT team to be  able to contribute to the development of Anantapur district and other areas of Andhra Pradesh, for  more than 50 years, by supporting thousands to escape  extreme poverty. As my late husband Vicente Ferrer once said: “As long as there is suffering in the world, RDT will continue working,” said Mrs. Anne Ferrer, RDT Executive Director.
